The
advantages of steam humidification- Steam
is easy to distribute and is absorbed by the air more quickly.
Large quantity of moisture can be supplied from a small
and leight-weight apparatus. Deposits of calcium, minerals
etc in the water occur in the electrode container and do
not come out into the room in the form of particles which
settle on furniture, instruments, paper etc. There is no
temperature drop as in the case of humidification by the
atomization of cold water. Steam humidification is very
efficient and not extravagant with water as in the case
of nozzle humidification, which also causes nozzle blockage
problems.
A steam
humidifier is cheaper to buy than conventional evaporation
and nozzle humidifiers. The air does not require any subsequent
heating.
Design-STEAMATIC
fully automatic steam humidifiers are made of components
shown in the pictures here. Each unit is very easy to assemble
and run in addition to be favourably designed from the viewpoint
of servicing. Any part replacement can be carried out quickly
and cheaply. The electric components are well separated
from water in order to avoid flash-overs caused by moisture
on cables etc.
Function- Steam
is produced by injecting water into the electrode container
where it comes into contact with and is heated up by the
three electrodes fitted in the container. Water thus functions
as a conductor and there is no current carried unless water
is present. This feature means that it is impossible for
the unit to boil dry. As
the water level is allowed to rise, boiling occurs quickly
and at a faster rate. The higher the water level on the
electrodes, the greater the current and the greater the
steam production. Variation concerning the water level and
thereby the steam quantity is carried out according to the
value set on the steam regulator. This form of control means
a very flexible range concerning the quantity of steam.
It is not necessary to fit larger units if the premises
are extended and the moisture demand increases. Within the
capacity range of the unit concerned, you always have a
safeguard covering extensions and faulty calculations.
The
steam production is controlled by one step up to four steps.
As an alternative there is also modulating control which
can be controlled by potentiometer hygrostat or by means
of different kind of signals, which is to be connected to
the system control panel. The steam is distributed through
steam distributor to ventilation ducts, our free-blowing
fan unit SMF or the Combi-humidifiers with the built in
fan.
Electrode container (steam cylinder)-The
container is drained automatically at regular intervals
and is also easy to remove and clean when necessary. The
electrodes are designed for long periods of use and are
also easy to replace. These factors make the system very
economical from viewpoint of maintenance. In case of problematic
water conditions, the water must be specially treated. A
suggestion concerning such water treatment is available
on request.
Maintenance-In
order to avoid interruptions in steam production, the electrode
system in the humidifier must be cleaned and checked regulary.
The intervals between such maintenance operations depend
on the condition of the water and the loading on the system.
An over-sized system always ensures a longer interval between
maintenance operations. See more details about this in the
separate servicing instructions.
