An
example of a steam quantity calculation
The
following example and table provides guidance
for such calculations. The guide-line values
for the necessary amount of steam are based
on the amount of outside air being fed in
cubic metres per hour at a room temperature
of + 22° C and an ambient air temperature
of + 0° C and -15° C respectively.

- Eg.
Desired relative humidity=40%
- Amount
of air fed= 1500 m³/hour
- Ambient
air temperature= -15° C
- Quantity
of steam = 1500x6,6=9 900 grams/hour or
9.9 kg/hour
The
table is based on a water content of about
2 g/kg air at + 0° C and about 1g/kg
air at -15° C.
